Promotional calendars are a tried and true product for scoring your business a prime spot in your audience’s homes and offices. When your customers, neighbours, friends, and employees put your calendars on their walls, you succeed in gaining prime advertising real estate for your brand for the entire year! But you’re probably not the only business in your area that is giving away promotional calendars, so how can you make sure yours is the one to make it to that coveted spot in the kitchen, the break room, or the office? 1. Give them away early

You may notice that all of our promotional calendars start in December of the previous year, and there’s a reason for that! Giving your calendars away before the end of December can help you get a head start on your competition. If you’re the first business to put a promotional calendar in your audience’s hands, the chances of them keeping and using your calendar are much greater. By including December of the previous year in your promotional calendars, it becomes possible for you to give your calendars away as early as November, while still enabling and encouraging your customers to start using them right away!

Sure, anyone can customize a calendar with their business name, contact information, and logo, but have you thought about adding a more personal touch to your business calendars? A simple message of appreciation to your employees or holiday well-wishes to your customers can go a long way toward making your audience feel recognized and truly connected to you and your business. In the same way, personally addressing envelopes based on your existing contact list (or simply adding a ‘thank you’ calendar to their packaged orders) can be a surefire way to create a meaningful connection and make it that much more likely that your customers will hang on to your calendar.

3. Don’t limit your giveaways to your current customers

Consider doing blanket mailings in your area or even giving your calendars to local businesses, clubs, charities, or other organizations to use. After all, promotional calendar giveaways are not only for connecting with your current customers and contacts; they also present an opportunity to extend your brand’s reach and exposure within your community. Local businesses and gathering places like clubs and charity organizations can benefit from receiving free calendars just as much as anybody else, and if they put your calendar up, they can generate a ton of impressions among members of your community who visit their establishments!
